Petrzilka Quarter Horses has been raising registered Foundation Bred Quarter Horses since 1990. We started out with Doc's Prescription and Old Copy Cat breeding, knowing all along that we wanted the foundation bloodlines that could work a cow on the ranch. We used a Doc's Prescription bred Stallion with Robert Redford breeding mixed in to get color. To cross on those mares we purchased a double bred Doc's Jack Sprat stallion, to help bring out even more of the cutting type. We then purchased Mr Poco Blakburn to bring back the color we lost from the Doc's Jack Sprat stallion, but to retain the cutting hores abilities. He has been everything we have hoped for, and his offspring are showing great promise. Our next purchase was Zangsbluechip, our hopes for him is also to throw some color, but also to put some more size on the colts, yet retaining the cow horse way of doing things. We then, purchased our buckskin stud, Watch Catalyst, our plan for him is to continue with our program. Our broodmare band is mostly cow bred mares, that consist of such bloodlines as Mr San Peppy, Doc's Prescription, Doc Bar, Poco Tivio, Two Eyed Jack, Oklahoma Star, Cutter Bill, Doc Olena, Colonel Freckles, Tiger Leo, Beggar Toots, Surgar Bars, Kid Meyers, Peponita, Otoe, Leo and Go Man Go. Kevin and Donna Petrzilka manage the operation along with their sons Dillon and Mason. Petrzilka Quarter Horses is co-owned by Ray and Joan and Kevin and Donna. We are located in southeastern Nebraska, 8 miles northwest of Valparaiso or 9 miles southeast of Brainard on 32 Rd. Visitors are always welcome, colts will be for sale in the fall.
